Block-modeling plugin
Block-modeling plugin - plugin for modeling and analysis of multiparametric surfaces, describing the ore mineral. The main purpose - tool for presentation and analysis of the investigated parameter spatial distribution.
If the assay data are available, such as iron ore deposits, and we want to determine the geometry of the ore body on the basis of these data, calculate the quantity and quality of ore, etc., the block modeling is one of the methods for solving these problems.
The essence of the method is simple: target space is divided into rectangular certain size prisms (blocks) and in the middle of each block the value of the parameter (for example, the content of minerals) is computed. This value is adopted as a constant for the whole block. Then it is possible to allocate the portion of the rock mass, where the value is in the required range, define the volume of this part and quantitative parameters of this volume.
In short, the essence is simple, but we can't say the same about the implementation of the method and especially its application. Block modeling is an instrument of a specialists with relevant knowledge and experience.
The main performed operations:
1. volume / content calculation for each block model parameter
2. mechanism of processing assay results:
° storage, visualization, editing the assay results
° assay clustering
° partitioning
° group editing methods(delete empty assays, select range of elevation)
° preparing data for block model creation
3. horizontal and vertical section with writing parameters for each block
4. block model construction (several Kriging methods, inverse distance method, level linear interpolation method)
5. isolines construction for the block model current parameter
